In this section, John saw another sign in heaven. The sign was seven angels ready to cause seven plagues. He also saw a group of believers who had not submitted to Satan. They sang a song of praise to God and Jesus. Then he saw the seven angels prepare to inflict the plagues on those who refused to submit to God.

of smoke. The smoke was a sign that the glory and power of God was there.
smoke from the glory of God and from His power: The smoke is evidence that the glory of God and his power were in the temple. The phrase implies that God was present at the temple. Other ways to translate this phrase are:
smoke which came from the glory and power of God
smoke that was a sign that the glory and power of God was there
glory: Here this word refers to brightness. Much light comes from God. The word symbolizes greatness, power, splendor, and majesty. Other ways to translate this word are:
splendor
radiance

and no one could enter the temple
and everyone was unable to enter the temple
It was impossible for anyone to enter the temple in heaven
no one could enter the temple: This clause indicates that it was not possible for anyone to enter the temple. No one could force their way in.Kistemaker (page 433) says, “The fierceness of God’s wrath is so intense that no creature can enter his presence.” Smalley (page 392) says, “It was impossible to enter the temple.” Other ways to translate this clause are:
no one was able to enter the temple (NASB)
it was not possible for anyone to enter the temple
until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.
until all of the seven angels’ disasters occurred.
until the seven angels had finished pouring out each of their plagues.
until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed: This clause indicates that the seven plagues from the angels were not yet finished. The context indicates that the plagues had not yet occurred. 16:1–21 tells the details of the seven plagues from the seven bowls.
This clause is passive. Some languages must use an active or intransitive clause. For example:
until the seven angels finished pouring out the seven plagues
until the seven plagues of the seven angels were past and over (JBP)
the seven plagues from the seven angels came to an end
