OET (OET-LV) And_I_answered a_second_time and_I_said to_him/it what are_the_two_of the_clusters_of the_olive_trees which are_at_the_hand_of the_two_of the_pipes_of the_gold which_are_pouring_out from_on_them the_gold.
OET (OET-RV) “And what are these two olive branches beside the two gold pipes that have golden oil pouring out of them?”
(Occurrence 0) What are these two olive branches
(Some words not found in UHB: and,I_answered second and,I_said to=him/it what? two(fd) branches_of of,the_olive_trees which/who [are]_at,the_hand_of two_of pipes_of the=gold [which,are]_pouring_out from,on,them the=gold )
Here Zechariah changes his question and asks about branches that are connected to the two olive trees.
(Occurrence 0) the two gold pipes
(Some words not found in UHB: and,I_answered second and,I_said to=him/it what? two(fd) branches_of of,the_olive_trees which/who [are]_at,the_hand_of two_of pipes_of the=gold [which,are]_pouring_out from,on,them the=gold )
These pipes were not mentioned in the previous description of Zechariah’s vision. It is possible that they are connected to the bowl on top of the lampstand and provide the oil with which the lampstand burns.
(Occurrence 0) golden oil
(Some words not found in UHB: and,I_answered second and,I_said to=him/it what? two(fd) branches_of of,the_olive_trees which/who [are]_at,the_hand_of two_of pipes_of the=gold [which,are]_pouring_out from,on,them the=gold )
Here “golden” refers to the color of the oil and does not mean that the oil was made of gold.
4:1-14 This vision affirms that through his Spirit, God would enable Zerubbabel and Jeshua to rebuild the Temple.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
