OET (OET-RV) Simon saw that his son John was a man, so he made him leader of all his forces; and he lived in Gazara.
BrLXX Καὶ εἶδε Σίμων τὸν Ἰωάννην υἱὸν αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ἀνήρ ἐστι, καὶ ἔθετο αὐτὸν ἡγούμενον τῶν δυνάμεων πασῶν, καὶ ᾤκει ἐν Γαζάροις.
(Kai eide Simōn ton Yōannaʸn huion autou, hoti anaʸr esti, kai etheto auton haʸgoumenon tōn dunameōn pasōn, kai ōkei en Gazarois. )
BrTr And when Simon saw that John his son was a valiant man, he made him captain of all the hosts; and he dwelt in Gazara.
