BrLXX Ἦν δὲ ἡ τούτου θεωρία τοιάδε· Ὀνίαν τὸν γενόμενον ἀρχιερέα, ἄνδρα καλὸν καὶ ἀγαθὸν, αἰδήμονα μὲν τὴν ἀπάντησιν, πρᾷον δὲ τὸν τρόπον, καὶ λαλιὰν προϊέμενον πρεπόντως, καὶ ἐκ παιδὸς ἐκμεμελετηκότα πάντα τὰ τῆς ἀρετῆς οἰκεῖα, τοῦτον τὰς χεῖρας προτείναντα κατεύχεσθαι τῷ παντὶ τῶν Ἰουδαίων συστήματι.
(Aʸn de haʸ toutou theōria toiade; Onian ton genomenon arⱪierea, andra kalon kai agathon, aidaʸmona men taʸn apantaʸsin, praon de ton tropon, kai lalian proiemenon prepontōs, kai ek paidos ekmemeletaʸkota panta ta taʸs aretaʸs oikeia, touton tas ⱪeiras proteinanta kateuⱪesthai tōi panti tōn Youdaiōn sustaʸmati. )
BrTr And this was his vision: That Onias, who had been high priest, a virtuous and a good man, reverend in conversation, gentle in condition, well spoken also, and exercised from a child in all points of virtue, holding up his hands prayed for the whole body of the Jews.
WEBBE The vision of that dream was this: Onias, he who had been high priest, a noble and good man, modest in bearing, yet gentle in manner and well-spoken, and trained from a child in all points of virtue, with outstretched hands invoking blessings on the whole body of the Jews.
KJB-1611 And this was his vision: that Onias, who had bin high Priest, a vertuous, and a good man, reuerend in conuersation, gentle in condition, well spoken also, and exercised from a child in all points of vertue, holding vp his hands, prayed for the whole bodie of the Iewes.
