OET (OET-LV) thus YHWH he_says soldiers/messengers again they_will_sit old_men and_old_women in_the_open_places_of Yərūshālam/(Jerusalem) and_each staff_of_his in_his/its_hand from_abundance_of days.
OET (OET-RV) Commander-in-chief Yahweh says:
⇔ Old men and old women will appear around Yerushalem’s streets once again,
⇔ ≈ and the people will need staffs in their hands because they’ve grown so old.
Note 1 topic: writing-quotations
כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת
thus he/it_had_said YHWH armies/messengers
See how you translated the similar expression in [8:2](../08/02.md).
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / merism
זְקֵנִ֣ים וּזְקֵנ֔וֹת
old_men and,old_[women]
Yahweh is referring to all elderly people by naming two major components, Old men and old women. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [The elderly]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / gendernotations
וְאִ֧ישׁ מִשְׁעַנְתּ֛וֹ בְּיָד֖וֹ
and,each staff_of,his in=his/its=hand
Here the masculine term man has a generic sense that includes both men and women. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could use language in your translation that is clearly inclusive of both men and women. Alternate translation: [and each person with a staff in hand]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
מֵרֹ֥ב יָמִֽים
from,abundance_of days
Yahweh is using from a multitude of days as a common expression of the culture to mean “because of old age.” If this phrase does not have that meaning for your readers, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [because of old age]
OET (OET-LV) thus YHWH he_says soldiers/messengers again they_will_sit old_men and_old_women in_the_open_places_of Yərūshālam/(Jerusalem) and_each staff_of_his in_his/its_hand from_abundance_of days.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
