TSNTyndale Study Notes:

17:10-12 In light of the strong opposition in Thessalonica, the believers sent Paul and Silas to Berea, located about fifty miles (80.5 km) west of Thessalonica. There the missionaries had a better reception than in Thessalonica. Many Jews came to faith, as well as many of the prominent Greek women and men. The Bereans were exemplary in their attitude, for they were open-minded and eager to learn, good listeners, diligent Bible students, and thoughtful people. Their resulting faith had a strong foundation.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

οἱ & ἀδελφοὶ

the & brothers

Luke is using the term brothers to mean people who share the same faith. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “the believers”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicitinfo

τὴν συναγωγὴν τῶν Ἰουδαίων

the synagogue ˱of˲_the Jews

It might seem that the expression the synagogue of the Jews contains extra information that would be unnatural to express in your language. If so, you could shorten it. Alternate translation: “the synagogue”
