TSNTyndale Study Notes:

13:8-10 These verses discuss how believers relate to other people. If we truly love others, our actions will reflect all the commandments in the law that concern our relationships with other people.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / personification

ἡ ἀγάπη τῷ πλησίον κακὸν οὐκ ἐργάζεται

¬The love ˱to˲_the_‹one› near evil not /is/_doing

Here Paul speaks of love as if it were a person who could do some kind of work. He means that people who love other people do not do evil things to them. If it would be helpful in your language, you could express the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “People who love do not work evil to a neighbor”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

ἡ ἀγάπη τῷ πλησίον & κακὸν & πλήρωμα & νόμου & ἡ ἀγάπη

¬The love ˱to˲_the_‹one› near & (Some words not found in SR-GNT: ἡ ἀγάπη τῷ πλησίον κακὸν οὐκ ἐργάζεται πλήρωμα οὖν νόμου ἡ ἀγάπη)

If your language does not use abstract nouns for the ideas of love, evil, and fulfillment, you could express the same ideas in another way. Alternate translation: “Loving a neighbor … what is evil … loving others fulfills the law”

Note 3 topic: grammar-collectivenouns

νόμου

˱of˲_/the/_law

See how you translated the law in 2:12.
