TSNTyndale Study Notes:

8:1 So now there is no condemnation: Paul concludes from the argument of chs 5–7 that neither sin (ch 6) nor the law (ch 7) can keep believers from having eternal life (ch 5). Paul can triumphantly proclaim that those who belong to Christ Jesus need not fear that they will be condemned for their sins.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result

οὐδὲν ἄρα νῦν κατάκριμα

˱there_is˲_not_one consequently now condemnation

Here, therefore now marks the beginning of a new section in the letter. It also introduces a result clause that concludes what Paul discussed in chapters 5–7. Use a natural way in your language to indicate result. Alternate translation: [Since all these things are true, there is no condemnation at all] or [As a result of everything that I have just told you being true, there is no condemnation at all]

ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ
