uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-words-phrases

δὲ

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: τά Δέ παντᾶ ἐκ τοῦ Θεοῦ τοῦ καταλλάξαντος ἡμάς ἑαυτῷ διά Χριστοῦ καί δόντος ἡμῖν τήν διακονίαν τῆς καταλλαγῆς)

Here, the word Now introduces the development of the ideas from the previous verse. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a word or phrase that introduces a development, or you could leave Now untranslated. Alternate translation: [In fact,]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

τὰ & πάντα

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: τά Δέ παντᾶ ἐκ τοῦ Θεοῦ τοῦ καταλλάξαντος ἡμάς ἑαυτῷ διά Χριστοῦ καί δόντος ἡμῖν τήν διακονίαν τῆς καταλλαγῆς)

Here, the phrase all these things could refer to: (1) the “new creation” and “new things” that Paul mentioned in [5:17](../05/17.md). Alternate translation: [all these new things] (2) everything that exists. Alternate translation: [all things]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / distinguish

τοῦ καταλλάξαντος

¬the the_‹one› ˓having˒_reconciled

Here Paul is adding more information about God. He is not distinguishing between different gods. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a form that clearly adds information instead of distinguishing between people. Alternate translation: [and he has reconciled]

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / possession

τὴν διακονίαν τῆς καταλλαγῆς

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: τά Δέ παντᾶ ἐκ τοῦ Θεοῦ τοῦ καταλλάξαντος ἡμάς ἑαυτῷ διά Χριστοῦ καί δόντος ἡμῖν τήν διακονίαν τῆς καταλλαγῆς)

Here Paul uses the possessive form to identify a ministry whose goal or aim is reconciliation. If it would be helpful in your language, you could express the idea in another way. Alternate translation: [the ministry that accomplishes this reconciliation] or [the ministry that leads to this reconciliation]

Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

δόντος ἡμῖν τὴν διακονίαν τῆς καταλλαγῆς

˓having˒_given ˱to˲_us (Some words not found in SR-GNT: τά Δέ παντᾶ ἐκ τοῦ Θεοῦ τοῦ καταλλάξαντος ἡμάς ἑαυτῷ διά Χριστοῦ καί δόντος ἡμῖν τήν διακονίαν τῆς καταλλαγῆς)

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of reconciliation, you could express the idea by using a verb such as “reconcile.” Alternate translation: [having commissioned us to minister, so that God reconciles people to himself]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

5:11–7:4 Paul now explains the main theme of his message, which is reconciliation—the turning of enemies into friends and the restoration of relationships. Paul’s thinking is rooted in what God has done through Christ to reconcile sinners to himself (5:18-21). This exposition is framed by a defense of his own ministry (5:11-17) and an application of his message to the situation in Corinth (6:1–7:4).
