“For listen carefully.” This phrase brings attention to what Yahweh is going to say next.

Future time is spoken of as if the “days are coming.” See how you translated this metaphor in [Jeremiah 7:32](../07/32.md). Alternate translation: “in the future … I will restore the fortunes” or “there will be a time … when I will restore the fortunes”
(Occurrence 0) I will restore the fortunes of my people, Israel and Judah
(Some words not found in UHB: that/for/because/then/when see/lo/see! days coming declares_of YHWH and,I_will_turn_back DOM fortunes_of my_people_of,my Yisrael and=Yəhūdāh/(Yihudah) he/it_had_said YHWH and,I,will_bring_them_back to/towards the=earth/land which/who I_give to,ancestors_of,their and,they,will_take_possession_of_it )
“I will cause things to go well for my people, Israel and Judah, again” or “I will cause my people, Israel and Judah, to live well again.” See how you translated similar words in [Jeremiah 29:14](../29/14.md).
30:3 The new messages expand on the theme of 29:10-14 (see 3:18; 16:15; 24:6). The fall of Jerusalem and the Exile did not mark the end of the Lord’s relationship with Israel. The Lord had a wonderful future for the remnant of his people. Descendants of people from the northern kingdom of Israel who were taken into exile by the Assyrians in 722 BC would be restored. Likewise, descendants of the people of Judah who were taken into Babylonian exile in 597 and 586 BC would return to the Promised Land.
• I will bring them home: The first major return from exile occurred in 538 BC (Ezra 1:1–6:22), the second in 458 BC (Ezra 7:1–10:44), and the third in 445 BC (Neh 1–13).

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
