If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of oppression, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: [being oppressed]

Here Solomon is speaking as if a person’s moral judgment were a heart that could be destroyed by a bribe. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [and a bribe destroys a person’s ability to make right decisions]

Solomon is speaking of oppression as if it were a living thing that could craze a wise person. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [a wise person goes crazy when they are oppressed]
