OET (OET-LV) so_as the bonds of_me manifest in chosen_one/messiah to_become, in all the residence_of_the_governor and to_the rest all,
OET (OET-RV) in that my being in chains because of Messiah, has become known in the governor’s residence and to all the rest.
Paul explained in 1:12–18d the way the fact that he was in prison had affected other people. Paul believed that God was working in everything that happened to him. He saw something good happening when people preached about Christ, even when they preached for the wrong reasons. Some of the Christians apparently taught about Christ because they were jealous of Paul’s reputation as a teacher. But Paul was still happy because people were telling the good news about Christ.
Paul wrote that even though he was in prison, the gospel message was spreading.
As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ.
As a result of what has happened to me all the soldiers who are guarding the emperor’s palace and all the others here know that I am in prison because I serve Christ.
As a result: Paul gave a specific example of how the gospel had advanced as a result of what had happened to him (1:12).
the whole palace guard: The palace guard was a group of soldiers who guarded the official houses of governors and other important Roman officials. The term was especially used for those who guarded the palace of the Roman emperor in Rome itself. This suggests that Paul was probably writing from Rome.
everyone else: It is not clear to whom this refers. Paul may have been thinking about other prisoners or other servants in the place where he was imprisoned. Perhaps he was referring to other important people in the palace or even to all the people that he had met in that city. You should not try to make this more explicit.
chains: This is a figurative term referring to Paul’s imprisonment (see note on 1:7b–c).
for Christ: You could translate this phrase several ways. For example:
because I follow Christ
because I am a servant of Christ
because I preach about Christ
Note 1 topic: grammar-connect-logic-result
ὥστε
so_as
The phrase As a result shows that what follows this phrase is the result of Paul’s circumstances which he began discussing in verse 12, namely, his imprisonment. Consider using a connecting word or phrase that will clearly show that what follows it is the result of Paul’s imprisonment.
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
δεσμούς μου
bonds (Some words not found in SR-GNT: ὥστε τούς δεσμούς μού φανερούς ἐν Χριστῷ γενέσθαι ἐν ὅλῳ τῷ πραιτωρίῳ καί τοῖς λοιποῖς πᾶσιν)
Paul again refers to his imprisonment in a figurative way by using the phrase my chains. See how you translated this phrase in [1:7](../01/07.md).
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
τοὺς δεσμούς μου & ἐν Χριστῷ
(Some words not found in SR-GNT: ὥστε τούς δεσμούς μού φανερούς ἐν Χριστῷ γενέσθαι ἐν ὅλῳ τῷ πραιτωρίῳ καί τοῖς λοιποῖς πᾶσιν)
The phrase my chains in Christ means that Paul is imprisoned because of his work for the cause of Christ. If it would be clearer in your language, you could state that explicitly. Alternate translation: [my chains for the sake of Christ] or [my chains because I teach people about Christ] or [my chains for the cause of Christ]
1:13 The whole palace guard were workers in the emperor’s or provincial governor’s official residence (see 4:22).
• Paul was in prison because of Christ—that is, because of preaching the Good News of Christ (cp. Acts 21:26–28:31).

OET (OET-RV) in that my being in chains because of Messiah, has become known in the governor’s residence and to all the rest.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
