OET (OET-LV)And_ all_of _they_rejoiced Yəhūdāh/(Judah) on the_oath if/because with_all_of heart_of_their they_had_sworn and_on/over_all will_of_their they_had_sought_him and_he_had_let_himself_be_found to/for_them and_ YHWH _he_gave_rest to/for_them from_round_about.

OET (OET-RV)and all Yehudah celebrated that promise because they were totally sincere and committed. They asked Yahweh to give them guidance which he did, and he enabled them to have peace throughout their country.

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / hyperbole

(Occurrence 0) All Judah rejoiced

(Some words not found in UHB: and,they_rejoiced all Yehuda on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the,oath that/for/because/then/when with,all_of heart_of,their sworn and=on/over=all will_of,their they,had_sought_him and,he_had_let_himself_be_found to/for=them and,he_gave_rest YHWH to/for=them from,round_about )

Here the word “all” is a generalization. The phrase means that people from all over Judah rejoiced. Alternate translation: “People all over Judah rejoiced”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom

(Occurrence 0) with all their heart

(Some words not found in UHB: and,they_rejoiced all Yehuda on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the,oath that/for/because/then/when with,all_of heart_of,their sworn and=on/over=all will_of,their they,had_sought_him and,he_had_let_himself_be_found to/for=them and,he_gave_rest YHWH to/for=them from,round_about )

The idiom “with all their heart” means “with complete devotion.” Alternate translation: “with complete devotion” or “wholeheartedly”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

(Occurrence 0) he was found by them

(Some words not found in UHB: and,they_rejoiced all Yehuda on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the,oath that/for/because/then/when with,all_of heart_of,their sworn and=on/over=all will_of,their they,had_sought_him and,he_had_let_himself_be_found to/for=them and,he_gave_rest YHWH to/for=them from,round_about )

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. See how you translated this in [2 Chronicles 15:4](../15/04.md). Alternate translation: “they found him” or “he permitted them to find him”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

15:8-18 The Chronicler described Asa’s response in the precise terms of the prophet’s exhortation, but Asa’s specific actions went far beyond its general directives. As soon as Asa heard the prophetic words, he took courage in initiating a comprehensive reform, beginning with the removal of the detestable idols that again infested the land (see 14:5). Full trust in God had won the war against the Cushites, and total renewal of the covenant brought the Promised Land to rest (15:15).
