וַיְהִי־נַ֗עַר מִבֵּ֥ית לֶ֨חֶם֙ יְהוּדָ֔ה מִמִּשְׁפַּ֖חַת יְהוּדָ֑ה וְה֥וּא לֵוִ֖י וְה֥וּא גָֽר־שָֽׁם
and=he/it_was young_man from,Beth- food/grain/bread Yehuda of,clan_of Yehuda and=he Lēvī and=he staying there
The author is using this sentence to introduce a young Levite as a new participant in the story. If your language has its own way of introducing new participants, you can use it here in your translation.
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
מִמִּשְׁפַּ֖חַת יְהוּדָ֑ה
of,clan_of Yehuda
The author is using the term clan by association to mean the territory assigned to the clans of Judah. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. Alternate translation: [from the land assigned to the clans of Judah]
17:7-8 Not much about this Levite fits into orthodox biblical categories. Some Levites were priests, while others were temple servants (cp. Num 3–4). Levites were scattered throughout Israel (Gen 49:5-7; Josh 21). This young man, apparently a descendant of Gershom (Judg 18:30; cp. Exod 2:21-22), was based in Judah, but not in a Levitical town, and was looking for another place to live.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
