וַיָּ֜שָׁב וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח
(Some words not found in UHB: and,he_returned and,he_sent to=him/it chief fifty next/another and,his_fifty_of,[men] and,he_answered and=he/it_spoke to=him/it (a)_man the=ʼElohīm this_is_what he/it_had_said the=king quickly come,down )
The phrase returned and sent expresses a single idea. The word returned tells in what way the king sent soldiers, that is, for a second time. If it would be more natural in your language, you could express this meaning in a different way, here and in verse 13. Alternate translation: [And once again he sent]
Note 2 topic: writing-quotations
וַיַּ֨עַן֙ וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלָ֔יו
(Some words not found in UHB: and,he_returned and,he_sent to=him/it chief fifty next/another and,his_fifty_of,[men] and,he_answered and=he/it_spoke to=him/it (a)_man the=ʼElohīm this_is_what he/it_had_said the=king quickly come,down )
This captain was not answering something that Elijah said to him. He was responding to the situation of seeing Elijah still sitting on top of the hill. It may be helpful to clarify that for your readers. Alternate translation: [And when this captain saw Elijah still sitting on the hill, he said to him]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / quotesinquotes
כֹּֽה־אָמַ֥ר הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ מְהֵרָ֥ה רֵֽדָה
(Some words not found in UHB: and,he_returned and,he_sent to=him/it chief fifty next/another and,his_fifty_of,[men] and,he_answered and=he/it_spoke to=him/it (a)_man the=ʼElohīm this_is_what he/it_had_said the=king quickly come,down )
If it would be clearer in your language, you could translate this so that there is not a quotation within a quotation. Alternate translation: [The king orders you to come down quickly]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
