OET (OET-RV) and told him, “Yahweh says that you sent messengers to inquire from Ekron’s God Baal-Zevuv, as if there’s no God in Yisrael to ask. Therefore, he says, you certainly won’t get off that bed that you’re on because you’ll die in it.”

(Occurrence 0) Is it because there is no God in Israel from whom you can ask for information?

This rhetorical question is asked as a rebuke for consulting Baal-Zebub. This is irony because the king is definitely aware of the God of Israel. Alternate translation: “You must think there is no God in Israel whom you may ask for information!” or “You fool! You know there is a God in Israel to consult, but you acted as if you did not know.” (See also: figs-irony)

(Occurrence 0) you will not come down from the bed where you have gone up

When King Ahaziah was injured, he was placed in a bed. Yahweh said that he will never become well and be able to get out of the bed. See how you translated this statement in [2 Kings 3:4](../03/04.md). Alternate translation: “you will not recover and you will not get up from the bed where you are lying”
1:16 Is there no God in Israel? God’s message to Ahaziah remained unchanged (cp. 1:3-4).

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
