OET (OET-LV) And_he_will_spatter_it on the_one_purifying_himself from the_serious_skin_disease seven times and_he_will_declare_him_pure and_he_will_let_go DOM the_bird (the)_living over the_surface_of the_field.
OET (OET-RV) and flick it seven times onto the person who’s being purified from the skin disease. Then the priest can pronounce them as ‘clean’ enough to re-enter the community, and release the live bird to fly into the countryside.
Note 1 topic: translate-symaction
וְהִזָּ֗ה עַ֧ל הַמִּטַּהֵ֛ר מִן־הַצָּרַ֖עַת שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֑ים
and,he_will_spatter_[it] on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the_[one],purifying_himself from/more_than the_serious,skin_disease seven times
This is a ritual action by which cedar wood, hyssop, and a living bird are used to sprinkle the person with the skin disease with both blood and clean water. This action ritually purifies and cleanses the individual from any impurity that they acquired through their skin disease. It may be helpful to explain this to your readers in a footnote or in the text of your translation. See how you handled the idea of ritual sprinkling in [1:5](../01/05.md) and elsewhere.
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
עַ֧ל הַמִּטַּהֵ֛ר מִן־הַצָּרַ֖עַת
on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the_[one],purifying_himself from/more_than the_serious,skin_disease
If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: [on the person he is cleansing]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃
on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in face/surface_of (Some words not found in UHB: and,he_will_spatter_[it] on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the_[one],purifying_himself from/more_than the_serious,skin_disease seven times and,he,will_declare_him_pure and,he_will_let_go DOM the,bird (the),living on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in face/surface_of the=field )
Here, the expression the face of the field refers to an open field. If your language has a similar expression, consider using it here. If not, consider using a generic expression. Alternate translation: [toward an open field]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / genericnoun
הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃

Here, the expression the field does not refer to a specific field but to any field near the place where the Israelites are living. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a more natural expression. Alternate translation: [any nearby field]
14:7 Just as the goat released to Azazel symbolized the removal of sin from the community on the Day of Atonement (16:10, 20-22), the release of the live bird symbolized the removal of the individual’s uncleanness.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
