ULTAfter some years, they will make an alliance. The daughter of the king of the South will come to the king of the North to make an agreement. But she will not retain the strength of her arm, nor will he endure, or his arm. She will be given up, along with those who brought her, he who fathered her, and he who supported her in those times.[fn]

Instead of his arm , which the Hebrew text has, some ancient and many modern versions read his seed , that is, his children.

USTSeveral years later, the King of Egypt and the King of Syria will make an alliance to help each other. The King of Syria will give his daughter to the King of Egypt to become his wife. But she will not be able to influence him very long, and that woman, her husband, her child, and her servants will all be killed.

BSB  § After some years they will form an alliance, and the daughter of the king of the South will go to the king of the North to seal the agreement. But his daughter will not retain her position of power, nor will his strength [fn] endure. At that time she will be given up, along with her royal escort and her father [fn] and the one who supported her.

TSNTyndale Study Notes:

11:6 An alliance was formed between Antiochus II Theos, the king of the north (261–246 BC), and Ptolemy II Philadelphus, the king of the south (284–246 BC). Antiochus married Ptolemy’s daughter Berenice Syra in 250 BC, then abandoned her in 246 BC. She and Antiochus were then murdered.

Here arm stands for power.

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
