OET (OET-LV) and_I in_year one of_Dārəyāvesh the_Mede standing_of_my was_to_one_who_strengthens and_to_a_protection to_him/it.
OET (OET-RV) As for me, in the first year of King Dareyavesh (Darius) the Mede, I stood up to support and protect him.
In this long final vision, Daniel was told of events leading up to the end of the age.
The angelic figure told Daniel that he was fighting against the demonic powers that controlled, or wanted to control, the kingdoms of Persia and Greece.
“And I, in the first year of Darius the Mede,
And in the first year when Darius the Mede was king,
Earlier, during the first year that Darius the Mede ruled Babylon,
stood up to strengthen and protect him.
I myself stood by Michael to strengthen and defend him.
it was I who stood with the archangel Michael to help him.
This verse concludes the last paragraph of chapter 10.
And I…stood up to strengthen and protect him: There is a textual problem here. A few English versions follow an ancient Greek translation that indicates that Michael was the one who supported the angel who was speaking. The two options are:
The angelic figure who was speaking stood up to help Michael. For example:
I stood up to support and strengthen him (NRSV)
I stood to strengthen him and to provide protection for him. (NET)
I strengthened and defended Michael. (GW) (BSB, KJV, RSV/NRSV, NASB, ESV, NIV, NET, GW, NLT, NCV, NABRE)
Michael stood up to help the angelic figure who was speaking. For example:
He is responsible for helping and defending me. (GNT) (GNT, NJB)
It is recommended that you follow option (1), along with the great majority of English versions.
I: In the Hebrew text the pronoun I is given prominence. Do this in a way that is natural in your language. For example:
As for me, I (NRSV)
him: The pronoun him here refers to the archangel Michael who was mentioned in 10:21.11:1 Of the English versions consulted, only the CEV takes this pronoun to refer to Darius the Mede.
in the first year of Darius the Mede: The phrase the first year of Darius the Mede refers to the first year of Darius’ rule over Babylonia. See 9:1a. Here are some other ways to translate this:
During Darius the Mede’s first year as king of Babylon
In the first year that Darius the Mede was king (NCV)
In some languages it may be natural to place the time indicator at the end of this verse part, as the NLT has done:
I have been standing beside Michael to support and strengthen him since the first year of the reign of Darius the Mede. (NLT)
In Daniel 11:1 through 12:4, the one who was speaking to Daniel in chapter 10 tells him what is written in the book of truth. This is as he said he would do in [Daniel 10:21](../10/21.md).

in=year one(fs) of,Darius the,Mede
Darius was the King of the Medes. Here, the first year refers to the first year that he was king. Alternate translation: “in the first year of the reign of Darius the king of the Medes”
11:1 Darius the Mede: See study note on 5:31; the first year was probably 539 BC.

OET (OET-RV) As for me, in the first year of King Dareyavesh (Darius) the Mede, I stood up to support and protect him.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
