ULT And they found among the dwellers of Jabesh Gilead 400 young women, a virgin who had not known a man by the lying of a male, and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh, which was in the land of Canaan.
UST So those soldiers went to Jabesh Gilead and killed all the men, married women, and children. But in that city they found 400 young women there who had never been married. So they brought them to Shiloh, where they had all gone by then. That city was across the river from the region where the city of Jabesh Gilead was.

21:12 It seems that this reference to Israel as “the land of Canaan” is deliberate and is intended to show how far Israel had fallen into idolatry.
