Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / quotesinquotes

only (Some words not found in UHB: only you(ms) not build the,house that/for/because/then/when if son_of,your [who,will]_come_out from,loins_of,your he/it build the,house for,name_of,my )

If you translated the previous verse so that there would not be a quotation within a quotation, you can continue doing that here. Alternate translation: [However, he, David, would not build the house, but rather his son coming out from his loins, he would be the one to build the house for his name]

Note 2 topic: writing-poetry

אַתָּ֔ה לֹ֥א תִבְנֶ֖ה & הֽוּא־יִבְנֶ֥ה

(Some words not found in UHB: only you(ms) not build the,house that/for/because/then/when if son_of,your [who,will]_come_out from,loins_of,your he/it build the,house for,name_of,my )

Yahweh is stating the pronouns you and he separately, even though the verbs translated as you will build and he will build already include their meanings. He is doing that in order to emphasize a contrast. See how you translated the expression “he, he cursed” in [2:8](../02/08.md), which similarly emphasizes a contrast. Alternate translation: [you will not be the one who will build … he will be the one who will build]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

בִּנְךָ֙ הַיֹּצֵ֣א מֵחֲלָצֶ֔יךָ

(Some words not found in UHB: only you(ms) not build the,house that/for/because/then/when if son_of,your [who,will]_come_out from,loins_of,your he/it build the,house for,name_of,my )

The implication of the expression coming out from your loins is that David would be the actual father of this son (that is, this would not be an adopted or foster son). You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. If you have already translated the book of 2 Samuel, see how you translated the similar expression in [2 Samuel 7:12](../2sa/07/12.md). Alternate translation: [your own biological son]
