OET (OET-LV)or:
Who will_be_coming_down into the abyss?
(This is chosen_one/messiah from the_dead to_bring_up).

OET (OET-RV)and don’t ask about who will be going down to the pit in order to bring Messiah up.’

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: writing-quotations

or

Paul uses or here to connect a quotation from [Deuteronomy 30:12](../deu/30/12.md) with a paraphrase of [Deuteronomy 30:13](../deu/30/13.md). If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a comparable phrase that shows this explicitly. Alternate translation: [or do not to say]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / quotemarks

τίς καταβήσεται εἰς τὴν Ἄβυσσον

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: ἤ Τίς καταβήσεται εἰς τήν Ἄβυσσον Τοῦτʼ ἐστίν Χριστόν ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναγαγεῖν)

In this sentence Paul paraphrases [Deuteronomy 30:13](../deu/30/13.md). It may be helpful to your readers to indicate this by setting off all of this material with quotation marks or with whatever punctuation or convention your language uses to indicate a quotation.

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion

τίς καταβήσεται εἰς τὴν Ἄβυσσον?

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: ἤ Τίς καταβήσεται εἰς τήν Ἄβυσσον Τοῦτʼ ἐστίν Χριστόν ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναγαγεῖν)

Paul quotes Moses using a question to teach his audience. If you would not use a rhetorical question for this purpose in your language, you could translate his words as a statement or an exclamation and communicate the emphasis in another way. Alternate translation: [Surely no one can descend into the abyss!]

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

τοῦτ’ ἔστιν Χριστὸν ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναγαγεῖν

(Some words not found in SR-GNT: ἤ Τίς καταβήσεται εἰς τήν Ἄβυσσον Τοῦτʼ ἐστίν Χριστόν ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναγαγεῖν)

In this clause Paul explains the meaning of the previous sentence. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state this explicitly. Alternate translation: [That means to make Christ come up from dead ones]

Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom

ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀναγαγεῖν

from ˓the˒_dead ˓to˒_bring_up

See how you translated a similar phrase in [4:24](../04/24.md).

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

10:6-8 Here Paul quotes three phrases from Deut 30:12-14 dealing with the law, and he applies them to the Good News about Christ. We do not need to go up to heaven to find Christ (and thus to be made right with God), because God has already brought him down to earth as a man. Nor do we need to go down to the place of the dead to find Christ, because God has already raised him from the dead. To find Christ, we must simply believe in the message that is close at hand.
