OET (OET-LV) in/on/at/with_shut_up the_heavens and_not it_will_be rain if/because they_will_sin to/for_you(fs) and_pray to the_place the_this and_confess DOM your(ms)_name from_sin_of_their turn if/because afflict_them.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
(Occurrence 0) When the skies are shut up and there is no rain
(Some words not found in UHB: in/on/at/with,shut_up the=heavens and=not will_belong rain that/for/because/then/when sinned to/for=you(fs) and,pray to/towards the,place the=this and,confess DOM your(ms)=name from,sin_of,their turn, that/for/because/then/when afflict,them )
The sky is spoken of as if it were a building in which God stores the rain, and when God does not want it to rain he closes the door to the building. Alternate translation: “When you do not allow rain to fall from the skies”
(Occurrence 0) confess your name
(Some words not found in UHB: in/on/at/with,shut_up the=heavens and=not will_belong rain that/for/because/then/when sinned to/for=you(fs) and,pray to/towards the,place the=this and,confess DOM your(ms)=name from,sin_of,their turn, that/for/because/then/when afflict,them )
This could mean: (1) “confess that they have sinned against you” or (2) “praise you” or (3) “say that they will obey you from now on.”
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
(Occurrence 0) turn from their sin
(Some words not found in UHB: in/on/at/with,shut_up the=heavens and=not will_belong rain that/for/because/then/when sinned to/for=you(fs) and,pray to/towards the,place the=this and,confess DOM your(ms)=name from,sin_of,their turn, that/for/because/then/when afflict,them )
Here “turn from” is a metaphor for stopping doing it. Alternate translation: “stop committing their sins” or “stop acting sinfully”
6:21-39 In his covenant with Israel, the Lord established blessings and life as consequences of obedience, and curses and death as consequences of disobedience (Deut 27:11–28:68; 30:15-18). Solomon prayed for God to hear . . . and forgive when the people failed to keep God’s covenant. The seven “if-then” petitions of his prayer represented any future situation that the people of the covenant might encounter. In each case, Solomon described the situation and asked God to intervene to help his people.

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
