In this verse, Solomon is introducing more of the first part of a possible condition, which he began introducing with the term “If” in the previous verse. He is asking Yahweh to do the things he describes in the next verse if this condition happens. Use a natural form in your language for introducing more of a condition that could happen. Here, the heart represents a person’s emotions and awareness. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [an individual who is painfully aware that you are plaguing him]
