UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / rquestion

(Occurrence 0) Is it because there is no God in Israel from whom you can ask for information?

(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_spoke to=him/it thus he/it_had_said YHWH because which/who sent messengers to,inquire in/on/at/with,Baal- -zebub god_of ˊEqrōn the,because,not not ʼElohīm in/on/at/with,Israel to,inquire in/on/at/with,word_of,his for=so/thus/hence the,bed which/who gone_up there not come_down from=her/it that/for/because/then/when to_die you(ms)_will_die )

This rhetorical question is asked as a rebuke for consulting Baal-Zebub. This is irony because the king is definitely aware of the God of Israel. Alternate translation: “You must think there is no God in Israel whom you may ask for information!” or “You fool! You know there is a God in Israel to consult, but you acted as if you did not know.” (See also: figs-irony)

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

(Occurrence 0) you will not come down from the bed where you have gone up

When King Ahaziah was injured, he was placed in a bed. Yahweh said that he will never become well and be able to get out of the bed. See how you translated this statement in [2 Kings 3:4](../03/04.md). Alternate translation: “you will not recover and you will not get up from the bed where you are lying”
