Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicitinfo
וַיֵּלְכ֡וּ וַיָּבֹאוּ֩
and,they_went and=they_came
It might seem that the expression and they went and they came contains extra information that would not be natural to express in your language. If so, you could shorten it. Alternate translation: [and they went] or [and they came]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / possession
וְאֶל־כָּל־עֲדַ֧ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל
and=near/to all/each/any/every community_of sons_of Yisrael
The author is using the possessive form to describe a congregation that is made up of the sons of Israel. If a speaker of your language would not use the possessive form for this, you could express this idea in another way. See how you translated this phrase in [8:9](../08/09.md). Alternate translation: [and to the congregation that consists of all the sons of Israel]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
אֶל־מִדְבַּ֥ר פָּארָ֖ן קָדֵ֑שָׁה
to/towards to/towards wilderness_of Pāʼrān to,Kadesh
The implication is that the people of Israel were located in both the wilderness of Paran and specifically at the city of Kadesh when the scouts returned. You could include this information if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [who were in the wilderness of Paran at Kadesh]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
וַיָּשִׁ֨יבוּ אוֹתָ֤ם דָּבָר֙ וְאֶת־כָּל־הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה
and,they_brought_back ,them message and=DOM all/each/any/every the,congregation
The phrase returned them and all the congregation a word is a common expression of this culture that means “gave them all a report” or “told them what they learned.” If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [And they told what they had learned to them and all the congregation]
Note 5 topic: writing-pronouns
וַיָּשִׁ֨יבוּ אוֹתָ֤ם & וַיַּרְא֖וּם
and,they_brought_back ,them & and,they,showed_them
The pronoun they refers to the 12 men who scouted out Canaan, the first pronoun them refers to Moses and Aaron, and the second pronoun them refers to Moses, Aaron, and the congregation. It may be helpful to clarify this for your readers. Alternate translation: [And the 12 leaders returned Moses and Aaron … and the 12 leaders showed Moses, Aaron, and the congregation]
Note 6 topic: grammar-collectivenouns
אֶת־פְּרִ֥י הָאָֽרֶץ
DOM fruit(sg) the=earth/land
In this verse, the word fruit is singular in form, but it refers to all the produce as a group. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use the plural form of “fruit.” See how you translated this phrase in [13:20](../13/20.md). Alternate translation: [the fruits of]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
