The events in this chapter occurred during the same month as the events in Numbers 7. See the note on 7:1. That means that these events occurred before the events in Numbers 1–6, which took place during the second month. You could include a footnote to make the timing of this chapter clear to your readers.

If your language would not represent numbers in forms such as in the second year and in the first month, you could represent these numbers in forms that your language would use. Alternate translation: [in year two … in month one]

The first month of the Hebrew calendar includes parts of March and April on Western calendars. You could convert the Hebrew day and month into an approximate date on the calendar that your culture uses. However, the Jews used a lunar calendar, so if you use a solar calendar, the date will be different every year, and the translation will not be entirely accurate. So you may just want to give the number of the day and the name of the month on the Hebrew calendar and say in a footnote approximately what time of year that is on your calendar.
