OET (OET-RV) That made Mosheh very angry and he told Yahweh, “Don’t accept their grain offering. I’ve never taken even one donkey from them or done anything bad to any of them.”
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
וַיִּ֤חַר לְמֹשֶׁה֙ מְאֹ֔ד
and=it_glowed/burnt to,Moses very
The author is using it burned exceedingly as a common expression of this culture to mean “he became very angry.” If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [and Moses’ anger burned greatly] or [and Moses was enraged]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
אַל־תֵּ֖פֶן אֶל
not pay_~_attention to/towards
Here, Moses is speaking of accepting an offering as if Yahweh would turn to look at it. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [Do not receive]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
מִנְחָתָ֑ם
offering_of,their
By grain offering, Moses means any offering from them at all. He is using a grain offering as an example because it was a small offering. You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [any offering from them, even a grain offering]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
לֹ֠א חֲמ֨וֹר אֶחָ֤ד מֵהֶם֙ נָשָׂ֔אתִי
not donkey one(ms) from=them taken
Here, Moses is speaking of stealing as if it were lifting something up. Your language may have a comparable expression that you can use in your translation, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [I have not stolen one donkey from them]
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
חֲמ֨וֹר אֶחָ֤ד
donkey one(ms)
By one donkey, Moses means he has not taken anything from the Israelites, not even something as insignificant as a donkey. You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [something as insignificant as one donkey]
OET (OET-LV) And_it_glowed/burnt to_Mosheh exceedingly and_he/it_said to YHWH do_not turn to offering_of_their not a_donkey one from_them I_have_taken and_not I_have_done_harm_to DOM one of_them.
OET (OET-RV) That made Mosheh very angry and he told Yahweh, “Don’t accept their grain offering. I’ve never taken even one donkey from them or done anything bad to any of them.”
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
