¶
¶ Then[fn] Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the regulation of the sin offering: In the place where the sin offering is slaughtered, the sin offering must be slaughtered before[fn] Yahweh; it is a most holy thing.[fn] The priest who offers the sin offering[fn] must eat it in a holy place—in the tent of assembly’s courtyard. Anything that[fn] touches its flesh will become holy, and when some of[fn] its blood spatters on a[fn] garment, what was spattered on it you[fn] shall wash in a holy place. And a clay vessel in which it was boiled must be broken, but[fn] if it was boiled in a bronze vessel, then[fn] it shall be thoroughly scoured and rinsed with water. Any male among the priests may eat it; it is a most holy thing.[fn] But[fn] any sin offering from which some of[fn] its blood is brought to the tent of assembly to make atonement in the sanctuary must not be eaten; it must be burned in the fire.’ ”

6:23 Normally, the bulk of a grain offering would go to the officiating priest (2:9-10). However, the grain offering described in 6:19-23 was for a special occasion—the ordination of the priests—and therefore was to be burned up entirely and not eaten.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
וְכָל־מִנְחַ֥ת כֹּהֵ֛ן כָּלִ֥יל תִּהְיֶ֖ה
and=all (Some words not found in UHB: and=all sin which/who brought any,blood,its to/towards tent/house meeting to,make_atonement in/on/at/with,holy_place not eaten in/on/at/with,fire burned )
This phrase a whole offering implies that the priests must offer this particular grain offering in its entirety, as opposed to the normal grain offerings, where the priest only burned the portion that he lifted out with a handful of the pieces that he chose to crumble upon the altar. In those cases, the priest was permitted to keep the rest of the grain offering for food. Alternate translation: “As opposed to normal grain offerings, this special grain offering that a priest offers when he is anointed to become a priest should be offered on the altar in its entirety”
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
לֹ֥א תֵאָכֵֽל
(Some words not found in UHB: and=all sin which/who brought any,blood,its to/towards tent/house meeting to,make_atonement in/on/at/with,holy_place not eaten in/on/at/with,fire burned )
If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “No one should eat this special grain offering that a priest offers when he is anointed to become a priest”
