The author is explaining in more detail what the quarriers did whom he describes in [5:15](../05/15.md). You may be able to use a form of a verb in your language that makes clear that the author is not describing something that Solomon commanded after he put these 80,000 men to work. Alternate translation: [As the king had commanded, the quarriers removed]

By valuable stones, the author means stones that had been carefully chosen and skillfully prepared for use in the temple foundation. He does not necessarily mean that they were precious stones such as marble or porphyry. The surviving portions of Solomon’s temple indicate that it was built of limestone blocks. You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [high-quality limestone blocks]

The author is using the possessive form to describe stones that were characterized by hewing. If a speaker of your language would not use the possessive form for this, you could express this idea in another way. Alternate translation: [stones that they cut into shape]
