OET (OET-LV) [fn] and_he/it_spoke three_of thousand(s) proverb[s] song_of_his and_he/it_was five and_one_thousand.
5:12 Note: KJB: 1Kgs.4.32
OET (OET-RV) Yahweh gave Shelomoh wisdom just like he’d said he would, and there was peace between Hiram and Shelomoh and the two of them made a treaty with each other.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / infostructure
וַיהוָ֗ה נָתַ֤ן חָכְמָה֙ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּר־ל֑וֹ וַיְהִ֣י שָׁלֹ֗ם בֵּ֤ין חִירָם֙ וּבֵ֣ין שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ בְרִ֖ית שְׁנֵיהֶֽם
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_spoke three_of thousand proverbs and=he/it_was song_of,his five and,one_thousand )
If it would be more natural in your language, you may want to put the information about Yahweh giving wisdom to Solomon last in this verse, since it seems to apply to the description in the following verses of how Solomon administered this project. Alternate translation: [And peace was between Hiram and between Solomon, and the two of them cut a covenant. And Yahweh gave wisdom to Solomon, just as he had spoken to him.]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / events
וַיְהִ֣י שָׁלֹ֗ם בֵּ֤ין חִירָם֙ וּבֵ֣ין שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ בְרִ֖ית שְׁנֵיהֶֽם
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_spoke three_of thousand proverbs and=he/it_was song_of,his five and,one_thousand )
The author is describing one event, peace being between Hiram and Solomon, before describing another event that preceded it, the two of them making a covenant. If it would be helpful your language, you may wish to relate these events in the order in which they happened, as in the UST. Alternate translation: [And Hiram and Solomon cut a covenant, and peace was between the two of them]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ בְרִ֖ית שְׁנֵיהֶֽם
(Some words not found in UHB: and=he/it_spoke three_of thousand proverbs and=he/it_was song_of,his five and,one_thousand )
The author is using cut a covenant as a common expression of his culture to mean “made a covenant.” If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. If you have already translated the book of 1 Samuel, see how you translated the similar expression in [1 Samuel 11:1](../1sa/11/01.md). Alternate translation: [and the two of them made a covenant] or [and Hiram and Solomon made a covenant]
OET (OET-LV) [fn] and_he/it_spoke three_of thousand(s) proverb[s] song_of_his and_he/it_was five and_one_thousand.

OET (OET-RV) Yahweh gave Shelomoh wisdom just like he’d said he would, and there was peace between Hiram and Shelomoh and the two of them made a treaty with each other.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
