OET (OET-RV) then listen to them from the heavens and forgive the sin of your servants and your people Yisrael, because you’ll direct them towards the right way to conduct themselves. Then you’ll send rain onto your land that you gave to your people as an inheritance.

If it would be more natural in your language, you could reverse the order of these phrases, since the second phrase gives the reason for the result that the first phrase describes. Alternate translation: [and since you will have taught the good way in which they should walk, may you forgive the sin of your servants and your people Israel]

The phrase your servants and your people Israel expresses a single idea. The word servants defines and describes who your people Israel are. If it would be more natural in your language, you could express this meaning in a different way. Alternate translation: [your servants, the people of Israel]

While Solomon may be making a general statement about how Yahweh always teaches the good way in which people should live, in context, he seems to be giving a reason why Yahweh should forgive the Israelites if this possible condition occurs. In that case, he would actually be referring to a recent past event viewed from a future perspective. Your language may have a verb form that you could use to indicate this. Alternate translation: [since you will have taught]

Solomon is speaking of how a person lives as if that were a path or way on which they were walking. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [the right manner in which they should conduct themselves]
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
לְנַחֲלָֽה
to,an_inheritance
Solomon is using the term inheritance to mean a lasting possession passed down from one generation to another. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or plain language. If you have already translated the book of Joshua, see how you translated the similar expression in [Joshua 11:23](../jos/11/23.md). Alternate translation: [as a lasting possession]

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
