OET (OET-RV)

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: translate-symaction

וְאִ֕ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִגַּ֖ע בְּמִשְׁכָּב֑וֹ יְכַבֵּ֧ס בְּגָדָ֛יו

and,anyone which/who touches in/on/at/with,bed_of,his wash clothes_of,his

See how you handled this ritual action in [14:8](../14/08.md).

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / gendernotations

וְאִ֕ישׁ

and,anyone

Although the word man is masculine, here is it being used in a generic sense that includes both men and women. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a phrase that makes this clear. Alternate translation: [And any person]

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / extrainfo

וְרָחַ֥ץ בַּמַּ֖יִם

and,bathe in/on/at/with,water

It might seem that the expression he shall bathe with water contains extra information that would be unnatural to express in your language. If so, you could use an equivalent expression. See how you translated this expression in [1:9](../01/09.md). Alternate translation: [And he shall wash thoroughly]

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

15:1-33 The principle of normal and abnormal and the created order again aids the interpretation of these regulations (see “Clean, Unclean, and Holy” Theme Note). Bodily discharges, such as infections (see study note on 13:1-46), were not “normal” because they weakened the vitality of the person, so the person was not seen as whole. Whether male (15:1-18) or female (15:19-33), such a person became unclean.
