ULTthen the priest shall come, and he shall see. And, look, the infection has spread in the house; it is a malignant infection in the house. It is unclean.

USTIf this has happened, then the priest should go to the house and examine it again. He should look to see if the mildew has spread on the plaster of the walls of the house. If it has, then the mildew is actually a malignant mold. The priest should judge the house to be impure and no one should live in it.

14:33-53 The contamination of buildings by rot or mildew made them unhealthy or even unsafe. These buildings were considered diseased and therefore not whole or clean (see study note on 11:1–15:33). The inspection and treatment process was similar to the one for mildew in clothing (13:47-59).
