(Occurrence 0) these same three men

Noah, Daniel, and Job

(Occurrence 0) as I live
(Some words not found in UHB: three_of the,men the=these in/on/at/with,midst_of,it he/it_lived I declares_of my=master GOD if sons and=if daughters save they(emph) to/for,alone_of,they saved and=the=earth you(ms)_will_be desolate )
“as surely as I am alive.” Yahweh uses this expression to show that what he says next is certainly true. This is a way of making a solemn promise. See how you translated this in [Ezekiel 5:11](../05/11.md). Alternate translation: “I solemnly swear”
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
(Occurrence 0) only their own lives would be rescued
(Some words not found in UHB: three_of the,men the=these in/on/at/with,midst_of,it he/it_lived I declares_of my=master GOD if sons and=if daughters save they(emph) to/for,alone_of,they saved and=the=earth you(ms)_will_be desolate )
If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “they could only rescue their own lives”
14:12-20 Israel had not been unjustly singled out for judgment. If any country were to sin against the Lord, the result would be the same. It is clear that Israel is in view here, however, because the language used to describe their sin is used elsewhere to describe a breach in Israel’s covenant relationship with the Lord. The covenant was broken, so the nation would inevitably and justly experience the covenant curses that they had ratified at the time the covenant was first made (Lev 26).
• The covenant curses are itemized in four test cases. Each case envisions one of the curses listed in Lev 26: famine (Ezek 14:13-14; see Lev 26:26), wild animals (Ezek 14:15-16; see Lev 26:22), war (Ezek 14:17-18; see Lev 26:25), and disease (Ezek 14:19-20; see Lev 26:25).

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
