TSNTyndale Study Notes:

14:33-53 The contamination of buildings by rot or mildew made them unhealthy or even unsafe. These buildings were considered diseased and therefore not whole or clean (see study note on 11:1–15:33). The inspection and treatment process was similar to the one for mildew in clothing (13:47-59).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

וּבָא֙ אֲשֶׁר־ל֣וֹ הַבַּ֔יִת

and,come which/who to=him/it the,house

Alternate translation: “then he who owns the house shall come”

Note 1 topic: writing-quotesinquotes

וְהִגִּ֥יד לַכֹּהֵ֖ן לֵאמֹ֑ר כְּנֶ֕גַע נִרְאָ֥ה לִ֖י בַּבָּֽיִת׃

and,tell to_the,priest to=say like,disease he/it_appeared to=me (Some words not found in UHB: and,come which/who to=him/it the,house and,tell to_the,priest to=say like,disease he/it_appeared to=me in/on/at/with,house )

If it would be clearer in your language, you could translate this so that there is not a quotation within a quotation. It may be helpful to begin a new sentence here. Alternate translation: “and he shall inform the priest that something like an infection has appeared to him in the house”

Note 2 topic: writing-quotations

לֵאמֹ֑ר

to=say

The word translated saying introduces a direct quotation. In your translation, consider ways in which you might introduce this quotation naturally in your language.
