Normally the OET discourages the reading of individual ‘verses’, but this view is only designed as a tool for doing comparisons of different translations. Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. The OET segments on this page are still very early looks into the unfinished texts of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check these texts in advance before using in public.

4:16-30 Jesus’ sermon in Nazareth previewed his whole public ministry. Jesus returned to his hometown synagogue to announce the good news that God’s salvation had now arrived. The people were pleased until Jesus reminded them that God reaches out to Gentiles as well as to Jews. The infuriated crowd then attempted to kill him.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
τοῦ ὄρους ἐφ’ οὗ ἡ πόλις ᾠκοδόμητο αὐτῶν
˱of˲_the mountain on which the city ˓had_been˒_built ˱of˲_them
If it would be helpful in your language, you could express this with an active form, and you could state who did the action. Alternate translation: [the hill on which people had built their town]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
ὥστε κατακρημνίσαι αὐτόν
so_as ˓to˒_throw_down him
The implication is that the people of Nazareth wanted to do this in order to kill Jesus. If it would be helpful to your readers, you could state that explicitly. Alternate translation: [because they wanted to throw him off to kill him]
