OET (OET-LV) And_not we_have_listened to your_servants the_prophets who they_spoke in_name_of_your to kings_of_our leaders_of_our and_ancestors_of_our and_near/to all_of the_people_of the_earth/land.
OET (OET-RV) We ignored the challenges from your servants the prophets who spoke to our kings, our generals, and our ancestors on your behalf, and to all the people of the land.
The vision recorded in this chapter occurred during the first year of the reign of Darius (538 B.C.). Thirteen years had therefore passed since Daniel received the vision described in chapter 8. Daniel was now more than eighty years old.
Daniel had read in the book of Jeremiah that God’s people would remain in exile and serve the king of Babylon for seventy years (Jeremiah 25:11). During that time the city of Jerusalem would remain in ruins. However, God had promised to bring his people back to the land of Judah after the seventy years were over (Jeremiah 29:10). Now Daniel realized that the seventy-year period was almost at an end. He prayed for his people and for Jerusalem. In response, God sent the angel Gabriel to reveal what would happen in the future.
Daniel confessed to God the sin of his people, the people of Israel.
We have not listened to Your servants the prophets,
We(excl) have not paid attention to your servants the prophets.
We have ignored the message you gave to your servants the prophets.
We have not listened to Your servants the prophets: The Hebrew verb that the BSB translates as have not listened in this context indicates that the people of Israel refused to listen to God’s message. They might have heard the message, but they did not pay it any attention or follow it. Other ways to translate this include:
We have refused to listen to your servants the prophets (NLT)
We have ignored the message your servants the prophets spoke (CEV)
and to all the people of the land.
They spoke to all the people in/of the land of Israel.
and to all the ordinary people in Israel.
to our kings, leaders, and fathers, and to all the people of the land: These are the groups that the prophets addressed. The pronoun our refers to the people of Israel.
who spoke in Your name to our kings, leaders, and fathers,
They spoke in your name/authority to our kings, our leaders, and our fathers.
You told them to speak to our ancestors and so they told/gave your word/message to our kings and other rulers
who spoke in Your name: The Hebrew word that the BSB translates as in Your name means “with your authority.” God told the prophets what to say, and they told the people that the message was from God. Other ways to translate this include:
who spoke on your authority (NLT)
who spoke for you (NCV)
who gave your message
In some languages it may be natural to reverse the order of 9:6a and 9:6b and translate them in chronological order. For example:
6bYour servants the prophets spoke in your name to our kings and other rulers. They spoke to our ancestors, and, yes, to all the people of Israel. 6aBut we(excl) did not pay/give them any attention.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
וְלֹ֤א שָׁמַ֨עְנוּ֙ אֶל־עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים
and=not listened to/towards your=servants the,prophets
Here not listened means they did not obey their message. Alternate translation: “We have not obeyed the message of your prophets”
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
דִּבְּרוּ֙ בְּשִׁמְךָ֔
spoke in,name_of,your
Here name refers to God’s authority. Alternate translation: “spoke with your authority” or “spoke as your representative”
עַ֥ם הָאָֽרֶץ
people the=earth/land
Here land refers to Israel. Alternate translation: “the Israelite people”
9:6 God’s servants the prophets were his specially called and inspired spokesmen (9:10; Deut 18:15-22; 2 Kgs 17:23; 21:10-15; Jer 7:25; 25:4).

OET (OET-RV) We ignored the challenges from your servants the prophets who spoke to our kings, our generals, and our ancestors on your behalf, and to all the people of the land.
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
