In the author’s culture, the word sons could refer to all the descendants of an important person. Here, sons of Levi identifies everyone who is descended from Levi, one of the grandsons of Abraham. Here, the phrase even though introduces something that is unexpected, given what the author has already said. In other words, it is surprising that the sons of Levi receive tithes from their brothers when they have all come from the loin of Abraham. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a word or phrase that introduces something that is contrary to what is expected. Alternate translation: [although] or [despite how]
