Elisha is using Make your hand ride on the bow as a common expression of his culture to mean “Grasp the bow with your left hand.” (The context indicates that the king understood that he should also grasp the bowstring with his right hand.) If this phrase does not have that meaning in your language, you could use a comparable expression from your language that does have that meaning, or you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [Take the bow in your hands] or [Hold the bow in readiness to shoot an arrow]
