uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: writing-pronouns

כְּאָכְלָ֨ם מֵהַנָּזִ֜יד וְהֵ֣מָּה צָעָ֗קוּ

(Some words not found in UHB: and,they_poured_[it]_out for_[the],men to,eat and=he/it_was just,as,they_ate some,of,the_cooked_food and,they cried_out and=they_said death [is]_in,pot (a)_man the=ʼElohīm and=not could to,eat_[it] )

The author is stating the pronoun they separately, even though the verb translated as they cried out already includes this meaning. He is doing that to emphasize that this action took place at the same time as the men’s action of eating the stew. If a speaker of your language would use an explicit pronoun for the same purpose, you may want to use that construction in your translation. If not, your language may have other ways of showing the meaning here. Alternate translation: [as soon as they tasted the stew, that they cried out]

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

מָ֤וֶת

death

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of Death, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: [Something deadly]
