Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
וּפְגַע־בּ֖וֹ וּקְבַרְתּ֑וֹ
and,fall in/on/over=him/it and,you,will_bury_him
Solomon assumes that Benaiah will know that he means that Benaiah is to attack and kill Joab even though he is still inside the sacred tent, where Israelites ordinarily would have sanctuary. Solomon was able to order this because the Law of Moses said in [Exodus 21:14](../exo/21/14.md) that a murderer was not entitled to sanctuary within the sacred tent. You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [and attack and kill him there in the sacred tent, since as a murderer he is not entitled to sanctuary. Then bury him]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit
וּפְגַע־בּ֖וֹ
and,fall in/on/over=him/it
By attack him, Solomon means that Benaiah is to kill Joab. You could indicate this explicitly in your translation if that would be helpful to your readers. Alternate translation: [and kill him with your sword]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
וַהֲסִירֹ֣תָ ׀ דְּמֵ֣י חִנָּ֗ם אֲשֶׁר֙ שָׁפַ֣ךְ יוֹאָ֔ב מֵעָלַ֕י וּמֵעַ֖ל בֵּ֥ית אָבִֽי

Solomon is speaking as if Joab had actually poured out the blood of Abner and Amasa when he murdered them without cause. Solomon is also speaking as if their blood were now upon him and his extended family. He means that as the king, he is responsible to provide justice for these innocent victims by executing their murderer, and if he does not, God will hold him and his family accountable. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [And you shall ensure that God does not hold me and the house of my father accountable for failing to punish Joab for murdering two innocent men]
Note 4 topic: grammar-connect-words-phrases
וַהֲסִירֹ֣תָ
and,you_will_remove
Here, the word and introduces what will happen as a result of Benaiah executing and burying Joab. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a word or phrase that introduces a result. Alternate translation: [And in that way you will remove] or [And as a result, you will remove]
Note 5 topic: translate-kinship

Your language may have its own term or expression for this relationship. If you have already translated the book of 1 Samuel, see how you translated the similar expression in [1 Samuel 9:20](../1sa/09/20.md). Alternate translation: [my extended family]
