TSNTyndale Study Notes:

13:1-46 a serious skin disease (Hebrew tsara‘at): The Hebrew word is much broader than the severely disfiguring Hansen’s disease (see study note on 13:2). This larger range included symptoms such as an open sore (13:10), a boil (13:18), a burn (13:24), a sore on the head or chin (13:29), shiny white patches (13:38), or abnormal baldness (13:40). A general test was whether or not the abnormality was spreading (13:5-8). If so, a quarantine was ordered for as long as the disorder persisted (13:46). Not just people, but clothing (13:47-59) and even buildings (14:33-53) could contract such infections.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

וְאִישׁ֙ א֣וֹ אִשָּׁ֔ה כִּֽי־יִהְיֶ֥ה ב֖וֹ נָ֑גַע

and,man or woman/wife that/for/because/then/when will_belong in=him/it infection

Alternate translation: “And when a man or a woman has an infection”

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / gendernotations

כִּֽי־יִהְיֶ֥ה ב֖וֹ נָ֑גַע

that/for/because/then/when will_belong in=him/it infection

Although the words he and him are masculine, they are being used in a generic sense that includes both men and women. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a phrase that makes this clear. Alternate translation: “when any person has an infection on him”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

א֥וֹ בְזָקָֽן׃

or (Some words not found in UHB: and,man or woman/wife that/for/because/then/when will_belong in=him/it infection in/on/at/with,head or in/on/at/with,beard )

Here, a beard represents the lower portion of the face where hair typically grows. Since the verse explicitly includes men and women, this word should not be limited to refer only to men's faces. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression from your language or state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “or on the lower part of the face where hair might grow”
