ULTAnd the priest shall make them, one as a sin offering and one as a burnt offering. And the priest shall make atonement for him to the face of Yahweh from his flow.

USTThe priest should prepare the birds as sacrifices to Yahweh. One of the birds should be a purifying sacrifice and the other should be a wholly burned sacrifice. When the priest offers these sacrifices in Yahweh's presence, Yahweh will accept them and restore the man. Yahweh will remove from the man the impurity he acquired from his impure discharge.

BSBThe priest is to sacrifice them, one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the man before the LORD because of his discharge.

TSNTyndale Study Notes:

15:1-33 The principle of normal and abnormal and the created order again aids the interpretation of these regulations (see “Clean, Unclean, and Holy” Theme Note). Bodily discharges, such as infections (see study note on 13:1-46), were not “normal” because they weakened the vitality of the person, so the person was not seen as whole. Whether male (15:1-18) or female (15:19-33), such a person became unclean.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

וְעָשָׂ֤ה אֹתָם֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן

and,sacrifice DOM=them the=priest/officer

Alternate translation: “And the priest shall get them ready”

Note 1 topic: writing-pronouns

וְעָשָׂ֤ה אֹתָם֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן

and,sacrifice DOM=them the=priest/officer

Here, them refers to the two birds that are described in the previous verse. It may be helpful to clarify this for your readers. Alternate translation: “And the priest shall make ready the two birds”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

וְכִפֶּ֨ר עָלָ֧יו הַכֹּהֵ֛ן

and,make_atonement on/upon/above=him/it the=priest/officer

See how you translated the abstract noun atonement in 1:4. However, here and throughout this chapter, make sure that your translation makes it clear that the man is not being atoned for because of any sin on his or her part. In this case, atonement removes impurity that is not caused by sin but by infection and uncleanness. It may be helpful to clarify this for your readers in a footnote or in the text of your translation.

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה

to=(the)_face_of/in_front_of/before YHWH

See how you translated this expression in 1:9.
