ClVg Terra quoque non vendetur in perpetuum, quia mea est, et vos advenæ et coloni mei estis:[fn]
(Terra too not/no vendetur in perpetuum, because mea it_is, and you advenæ and coloni my/mine estis: )
25.23 Terra quoque. AUG., Quæst. 90 in Lev. Alii codices habent, etc., usque ad quisquis habet, uti debet.
25.23 Terra quoque. AUG., Quæst. 90 in Lev. Alii codices habent, etc., until to quiswho/any habet, uti debet.
25:23 the land belongs to me: Israel’s ownership of the land was derivative, not absolute—ownership depended on the covenant, in which God himself allotted them the land (Deut 1:8, 39). The ideas of land stewardship and of sharing material resources stem naturally from this concept of God’s ownership.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive
וְהָאָ֗רֶץ לֹ֤א תִמָּכֵר֙
and=the=earth not sold
If your language does not use this passive form, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: You must not sell the land permanently or No one may sell the land forever
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / youplural
אַתֶּ֖ם
you_all
Here, you is plural and refers to all the Israelites. Use the plural form of “you” in your language if your language marks that distinction. Alternate translation: all of you
