4.7 Remissæ. Remittere, tegere, non imputare, ejusdem rationis et sensus sunt verba. Iniquitates. 4.7 Remissæ. Remittere, tegere, not/no imputare, hisdem rationis and sensus are verba. Iniquitates. Intelligitur through iniquitates originale peccatum, scilicet fomes peccati, who it_is_said concupiscentia or concupiscibilitas, if/or lex membrorum, if/or languor naturæ and aliis nominibus. And that before baptismum culpa it_is and pœna, after baptismum however pœna and not/no culpa, which parvulum habilem concupiscere, sed, not/no concupiscere, facit: adultum vero also concupiscere, which indeed in baptismo remittitur and transit after/second reatum, but remanet after/second actum. Originale however it_is_said, because from vitiosa originis nostræ conditione trahitur, and because from vitiosa lege concipiendi from peccato primi of_man accidenti concepti sumus, id it_is, carnis concupiscentia, ideo peccati rei sumus that originale it_is_said. 4:7-8 This quotation from Ps 32:1-2 follows the Jewish custom of supporting a reference to the Law with a reference in the Prophets or the Writings. Paul also uses a Jewish exegetical technique of linking unrelated quotations with a key word. Here, record . . . has cleared translates the same Greek word as “counted” in Rom 4:3.

This verse is the beginning of a quotation from Psalm 31:1–2. It may be helpful to your readers to indicate this with an opening quotation mark or with whatever other punctuation or convention your language uses to indicate the beginning of a quotation.

These two clauses mean the same thing. Paul says the same thing twice, in slightly different ways, to show how Blessed these people are. If it would be helpful in your language, you could combine the phrases into one. Alternate translation: “How blessed are those people whom God forgives completely for all their sins”

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you could express the idea in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. If you must state who did the action, Paul implies that “God” did it. Alternate translation: “God forgives … God covers”

Paul quotes David using covered to refer to God forgiving sins as if he covers sins so that he no longer sees them. If it would be helpful in your language, you could express the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “have been forgiven”
