OET (OET-LV)But Petros said:
Silver and gold is_ not _being to_me, but this what I_am_having, I_am_giving to_you, in the name of_Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) chosen_one/messiah of_the from_Nazaret, be_walking.

OET (OET-RV)But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold, but I’ll give you what I do have. With the authority of Yeshua the messiah from Nazareth, I command you to walk.”

uW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον

silver and gold

Peter is referring to money by association with the way that silver and gold were used for money at this time. Alternate translation: “money”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

ὃ δὲ ἔχω, τοῦτό σοι δίδωμι

what but ˱I˲_/am/_having this ˱to˲_you ˱I˲_/am/_giving

What happens next in the story shows that by what I have, Peter implicitly means the authority that Jesus has given him to heal. Alternate translation: “but Jesus has given me the authority to heal, and I will use it on your behalf”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τοῦ Ναζωραίου

in the name ˱of˲_Jesus Christ ˱of˲_the Nazarene

Here the name of Jesus represents his authority. Alternate translation: “By the authority of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, I command you”

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / imperative

περιπάτει

/be/_walking

This was not a command that the man was capable of obeying. Instead, it was a command that directly caused the man to be healed. Alternate translation: “I give you the ability to walk”

TSN Tyndale Study Notes:

3:6 The name of Jesus represents his identity and power to heal (see Mark 9:38-39).

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.

Acknowledgements: The SR Greek text, lemmas, morphology, and VLT gloss are all thanks to the SR-GNT.
