OET (OET-LV) And the one having_seen has_testified, and the testimony of_him is true, and that one has_known that he_is_speaking true, in_order_that also you_all you_all_may_be_believing.
OET (OET-RV) The one who actually saw this happen[fn] has testified this and his account is accurate so that you readers can also believe it,
9:35 Believed to be the author of this account.
Note 1 topic: writing-background
This verse is a break from the main storyline in which John provides some background information about himself. John is telling readers that they can trust what he has written because he saw these events happen. Use the natural form in your language for expressing background information.
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / 123person
ὁ ἑωρακὼς & αὐτοῦ & ἐκεῖνος οἶδεν ὅτι ἀληθῆ λέγει
the_‹one› /having/_seen & ˱of˲_him & that_‹one› /has/_known that true ˱he˲_/is/_speaking
These phrases refer to the apostle John, who wrote this Gospel. He is speaking of himself in the third person. If it would be helpful in your language, you could translate this in the first person. Alternate translation: [I, the one who saw this … my … I know that I speak the truth]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis
ἵνα καὶ ὑμεῖς πιστεύητε
in_order_that also you_all ˱you_all˲_/may_be/_believing
John is leaving out some of the words that this clause would need in many languages in order to be complete. If it would be helpful in your language, you could supply these words from the context. Alternate translation: [so that you would also believe that Jesus is the Messiah]
19:35 John was at the foot of the cross (19:26). He was not simply a collector of traditions about Jesus, but an eyewitness giving an accurate account of the events of Jesus’ life (cp. 21:24). This same confidence can be seen in the opening of John’s first letter (1 Jn 1:1-4).
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
