OET (OET-LV) And he_is_saying to_me:
Not you_may_seal the messages of_the prophecy of_ the _scroll this, the for time near is.
OET (OET-RV) Then he continued, “Don’t seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / doublenegatives
μὴ σφραγίσῃς
not ˱you˲_/may/_seal
If it would be clearer in your language, you could use a positive expression to translate this double negative that consists of the negative particle not and the negative verb seal. Alternate translation: “Leave open”
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
μὴ σφραγίσῃς
not ˱you˲_/may/_seal
The angel is speaking as if John might literally seal his book closed once he has written it. The angel means that John should tell others what he has written in the book and not keep those things to himself. If it would be clearer in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “Widely proclaim”
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
τοὺς λόγους τῆς προφητείας τοῦ βιβλίου τούτου
the words ˱of˲_the prophecy ¬the ˱of˲_scroll this
The angel is using the term words to mean what John has said in this book by using words to describe the prophecy that God gave him. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “what you have said in this book about the prophecy God gave you”
22:10 Do not seal up: The angel expands John’s initial instruction to “write in a book” (1:11) and warns against curtailing its communication. Although some things are sealed—God does not reveal everything (cp. 10:4)—what has been written must be communicated so that people will understand the seriousness of the message and that the time is near (see 1:1, 3; 22:6-7; cp. Dan 12:4).

Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
