OET (OET-LV) And he_is_saying to_me:
Be_seeing to_it not, a_fellow-slave of_you I_am and of_the brothers of_you, the prophets, and of_the ones keeping the messages of_ the _scroll this.
The before_god prostrate.
OET (OET-RV) But he told me, Hey, no! I’m a fellow slave of you and of your brothers the prophets and of the ones who obey the words of this book. Worship God.”
This is the last division of the book of Revelation and the last section. In it, the angel, Jesus, John, and the Holy Spirit spoke some final messages.
The angel of 21:9–22:5 affirmed that the book of Revelation is true. Then Jesus reminded the readers that he will return to earth. He also encouraged the readers to believe what was in this book. Then the angel told John to make this message known to other believers.
Then Jesus again spoke words of encouragement to believers. The Holy Spirit and the church invited all people to come to Jesus and believe in him. Then John warned everyone not to add any words to this book or remove any part of it. Jesus again reminded the readers that he will return. John agreed and ended the book with a blessing on God’s people.
Other examples of headings are:
Ending messages/announcements to endorse/approve the book
Final words to encourage the readers
Jesus, the angel, the Holy Spirit, and John conclude the book
But he said to me, “Do not do that!
But he said to me, “Do not do that!
But he commanded/told me, “Do not worship me!
Do not do that!: The angel commanded John not to worship him. Other ways to translate this clause are:
You must not do that! (RSV)
Do not worship me!
See how you translated this clause in 19:10.
I am a fellow servant with you
I am a coworker of yours(sing)
I serve God just as you do
I am a fellow servant with you: This clause indicates that the angel served God just as John served God. They both did what God told them to do. Other ways to translate this clause are:
I am a servant together with you (GNT)
I serve God just as you serve him
See how you translated this clause in 19:10.
and your brothers the prophets,
and a co-worker of your fellow believers who are prophets,
and I serve him as your brother and sister prophets serve God,
and with those who keep the words of this book.
and a co-worker of those who value/obey the messages of this book.
and as all who follow the words/teachings of this book serve God.
Worship God!”
Worship only God!”
It is God you should worship!”
your brothers the prophets: The phrase the prophets indicates that the angel was referring to believers who were prophets. They are John’s brothers because both they and John believe in Jesus. The word brothers refers to both men and women here. Other ways to translate this phrase are:
your brother and sister prophets
your fellow believers who are prophets
See how you translated the word prophets in 22:6.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis
ὅρα μή
(Some words not found in SR-GNT: Καί λέγει μοί Ὅρα μή σύνδουλος σοῦ εἰμί καί τῶν ἀδελφῶν σοῦ τῶν προφητῶν καί τῶν τηρούντων τούς λόγους τοῦ βιβλίου τούτου Τῷ Θεῷ προσκύνησον)
The angel is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [See that you do not do that]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
ὅρα μή
(Some words not found in SR-GNT: Καί λέγει μοί Ὅρα μή σύνδουλος σοῦ εἰμί καί τῶν ἀδελφῶν σοῦ τῶν προφητῶν καί τῶν τηρούντων τούς λόγους τοῦ βιβλίου τούτου Τῷ Θεῷ προσκύνησον)
The angel is using the term See to mean by association that John should give careful attention to what he is doing. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or express the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [Watch out! Do not do that!] or [Be careful not to do that]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor
τῶν ἀδελφῶν σου, τῶν προφητῶν
˱of˲_the brothers the ˱of˲_the_‹ones› (Some words not found in SR-GNT: Καί λέγει μοί Ὅρα μή σύνδουλος σοῦ εἰμί καί τῶν ἀδελφῶν σοῦ τῶν προφητῶν καί τῶν τηρούντων τούς λόγους τοῦ βιβλίου τούτου Τῷ Θεῷ προσκύνησον)
The angel is using the term brothers figuratively to mean fellow prophets. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [of your fellow prophets]
Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / gendernotations
τῶν ἀδελφῶν σου, τῶν προφητῶν
˱of˲_the brothers the ˱of˲_the_‹ones› (Some words not found in SR-GNT: Καί λέγει μοί Ὅρα μή σύνδουλος σοῦ εἰμί καί τῶν ἀδελφῶν σοῦ τῶν προφητῶν καί τῶν τηρούντων τούς λόγους τοῦ βιβλίου τούτου Τῷ Θεῷ προσκύνησον)
Although the term brothers is masculine, here the word has a generic sense that includes both men and women. If you wish to retain the figurative expression in your translation, you could word it in a way that is clearly inclusive of both men and women. Alternate translation: [of your brothers and sisters the prophets]
Note 5 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
τοὺς λόγους τοῦ βιβλίου τούτου
(Some words not found in SR-GNT: Καί λέγει μοί Ὅρα μή σύνδουλος σοῦ εἰμί καί τῶν ἀδελφῶν σοῦ τῶν προφητῶν καί τῶν τηρούντων τούς λόγους τοῦ βιβλίου τούτου Τῷ Θεῷ προσκύνησον)
The angel is using the term words to mean what John has said in this book by using words. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [what you have said in this book]
22:6-21 This epilogue to Revelation contains utterances by an angel (22:6, 8-11) and Christ (22:7, 12-19) followed by a concluding plea for Christ’s return (22:20) and a closing benediction (22:21). The epilogue has a number of direct verbal connections with the introduction to the book (1:1-11), and it sums up important themes such as encouraging faithful perseverance, warning evildoers, affirming the authenticity of the prophetic message, and restating the nearness of Christ’s return.
OET (OET-LV) And he_is_saying to_me:
Be_seeing to_it not, a_fellow-slave of_you I_am and of_the brothers of_you, the prophets, and of_the ones keeping the messages of_ the _scroll this.

OET (OET-RV) But he told me, Hey, no! I’m a fellow slave of you and of your brothers the prophets and of the ones who obey the words of this book. Worship God.”
Note: The OET-RV is still only a first draft, and so far only a few words have been (mostly automatically) matched to the Hebrew or Greek words that they’re translated from.
